Carl had three images selected for this year's Alaska Wild Photography Exhibition, sponsored by the Alaska Society of Outdoor and Nature Photographers. The show will open
on May 2, 2008 at the Kaladi Brothers Cafe on Northern Lights next to Titlewave Books.

Museum. Hosted by the Alaska Society of Outdoor and Nature
Photography, Carl will discuss challenges he faced and values
he contemplated during his recent trip as Artist-in-Residence
for Gates of the Arctic National Park & Preserve. Carl
will share practical tips on gear and technology issues
faced during extended backcountry wilderness photography
trips, along with his reflections on philosophical compatibility
and conflict between the business of nature photography
and the simple act of enjoying a wilderness experience.

Carl was notified that he was selected as the 2007 Artist-in-Residence for Gates of the Arctic National Park & Preserve in Alaska. With approximately 30 parks participating, the AIR program allows an artist of just about any medium to spend extended, focused time in a park to practice his art. Carl's residency will consist of a 10-day backcountry patrol with a park ranger either rafting one of the many rivers in the park or backpacking through the Brooks Range in August.

Carl was busy working with the sixteen ladies who comprise the Alaska Wild cheerleading squad photographing for the inaugural swimsuit calendar and for other photo needs of the squad. Look for the calendar in the Fifth Avenue Mall kiosk prior to opening day on April 12, 2007.

Carl is now the official team photographer for the Alaska Wild, Anchorage's new Arena League football team.

Carl is now the official resident photographer for Cyrano's
Off Center Playhouse in downtown Anchorage.
September 27, 2006
Carl learned that three of his images have been selected
to appear in the 2007 edition of "Expressions,"
the annual photo journal of the North American Nature Photography
Association. One of those images, "Columbine on Lupine
Tapestry," will also be featured in the NANPA Summit
Showcase in Palm Springs in January, 2007.

A selection of Carl's fall photography will open at Borders
Books & Music in conjunction with the Anchorage Chamber's
"Business After Hours."
August 2006
Carl became a business sponsor for Mrs. Alaska, Michelle
Martin, for her effort to become the next Mrs. America at
the national competition in Arizona. His donated framed
print of "Moose and Fireweed" was given to the
mayor of Tucson and his "Bears at Falls" print
was a gift for the governor of Arizona. The presentation
will be featured on cable television.
July 2006
Carl joined the elite list of professional photographers
from Alaska featured on the Adobe
Photographers Directory.
June 2, 2006
The Gallery opened a new exhibition entitled "The Living
Seasons," which celebrates the spring and summer seasons
primarily in Southcentral Alaska. The exhibition will be
on display through September. The gallery will host another
First Friday reception in July to celebrate the exhibition,
but will not have a First Friday reeption again until November,
as Carl will be shooting on location for the first Fridays
in August, September and October.

coverage of the Gold Nugget Triathlon in Anchorage.

Carl had an article entitled "More to Katmai than Bears
at the Falls" published in the Summer 2006 issue of
Nature
Photographer magazine.

Several of Carl's nature fine art framed prints are now
featured in the theatre and gallery at the new Alaska Visitor's
Center at 733 W. Fourth Avenue in downtown Anchorage. In
addition, some of Carl's assignment work now appears on
the web site for Prince William Sound Cruises and Tours
in their photo
gallery.

Carl had a photo he took in a hazelnut orchard south of
Portland published in the March-April issue of Rural
Cooperatives, a publication produced by the U.S.
Department of Agriculture with a readership of 8,000.

Carl opened a new display in his gallery entitled "Scenic
Southwest," featuring landscape photography from Utah
and Arizona, featuring Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon
National Park, Capitol Reef National Park, Arches National
Park, Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park and Upper Antelope
Canyon near Page, Arizona. Carl and his southwest exhibition
were also favorably featured in the April 6 edition of the
Anchorage Press newspaper.

Carl hosted a "Second Friday" reception at the
gallery. The exhibition, which will be on display through
the end of March, features Carl's favorite photos from 2005.

Carl had several images published in the International
Journal of Wilderness.

The photography gallery reopened after some extensive remodeling
work, with a whole new, classic fine
art gallery look. The grand reopening coincided with
a First Friday reception, and was catered by An Appetizing
Affair.

One of Carl's theatre production photos made the cover of
Play Magazine in the Anchorage Daily News.

Carl was the official photographer for the 8th World Wilderness
Congress in Anchorage. Carl hasproduced a photo CD that
