Since mid-2002, Carl has become one of the leading photographers providing photo services to theatre companies in Anchorage. He is the resident photographer for Cyrano's Theatre Company, and has taken promotional photos for Anchorage Community Theatre, Alaska Theatre ofYouth, Brown Eyed Girls Theatre Company, Stage Left Productions, North Star Productions, Once a Year Productions, and Scared Scriptless.

Carl's theatre photography has also appeared in Art Matters, the Anchorage Chronicle, the Anchorage Daily News, and the Press. Some of his coverage of the Alaska Overnighters appears on the web site of the Three Wise Monkeys Theatre Company based out of San Francisco.
